UBL crowned Best Bank 2016 at Pakistan Banking Awards
UBL was declared Pakistan’s ‘Best Bank’ at the first ever Pakistan Banking Awards.
The ceremony was held at the Mohatta Palace in Karachi on Friday, 13 May 2016. Held under the auspices of the Institute of Bankers (IBP), Dawn and AF Ferguson & Co, the awards were open to all banks in the industry and nearly all banks participated in this competition.
Mr Ashraf Mahmood Wathra, Governor, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Also in attendance were the top managements of all the banks in the industry.
The Awards were adjudged by a 5-member jury of experts comprising Mr. Syed Salim Raza, former SBP Governor and former CEO Pakistan Business Council; Mr. Fuad Azim Hashimi, CEO Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance; Ms. Nargis Ghaloo, Chairperson State Life Insurance Corporation; Mr. Azhar Hamid, former Banking Mohtasib and former Country Head of Standard Chartered Pakistan and Mr. Shehzad Naqvi, former Country Head of ABN AMRO and Citibank in Pakistan and Singapore.

The Bank has also launched an advertising campaign to celebrate winning this award. Today, for the first time, the Bank launched full page advertisements in Dawn, The News and Express Tribune - leading English newspapers of the country. In the coming days, more newspapers will carry our campaign around this award.
