New industry leading app launched for retailers

Bestway Wholesale have launched a new app aimed at 'revolutionising the retail experience' for Bestway Batleys cash and carry customers.

The new app, available from the Apple’s App Store, is free to install and is available now to all registered Bestway and Batleys customers for use on iPad and iPhone devices. An Android version is already in development and is expected to be released soon as well.

The app incorporates an array of features, including detailed product information and price updates on up to 20,000 products; the ability to list and access favourite products; the use of a barcode scanner to enable quick processing of large orders; and a fantastic voice to text memo function. The new app will change purchasing patterns for customers and, most importantly, will offer customers even more choice and convenience in how they shop.

Other features include updates on deals, offers and multi-buy purchases, access to previous order history and detailed information about specific products.

Customers will also be able to locate their nearest depot at the touch of a button, and plot a route with an estimated arrival time or book a delivery to their business.

The new app simplifies and enhances our web proposition and offers even more features in the palm of your hand.”

Jamil Mohammed, eCommerce Manager of Bestway Wholesale who led the development of the app, continues, “As a group we are working on a number of digital solutions to enhance the customer experience, of which the app is a key part.  We have been working on this app for a significant length of time and I believe we have now developed one of the best apps in the wholesale sector which sets a foundation on which to build future technologies. In addition to accessing the complete range at their local depot with near real-time stock levels, customers will find it far easier to compile their orders by using the reliable in-built scanner which automatically updates any one of their active baskets.”

We are currently testing a variety of technological innovations - of which i-beacons is one - to see how this technology can enhance customers’ experiences as they shop our depots and will share these finding in due course.”
